Celebrating strength, history, and just getting on with it!

This edition of Business View Civil & Municipal is a testament to the rich past and promising future of outstanding communities across North America.

We travel to 10 such remarkable locations, starting in Alpharetta, Georgia – the true ‘technology hub of the south’ with more than 700 tech companies calling the city “home.” Our cover city of Perrysburg, Ohio boasts a strong sense of community and independence, supporting growth of the local economy, while cherishing its historic, small-town character. And on the opposite end of the spectrum, Sahuarita, Arizona is a young community, creating a legacy of its own where everyone has the chance to set the foundation for future generations.

Environmentally-conscious, Lincoln, California is committed to a 40% open space requirement for all development. That allows the city to go above and beyond to protect its precious natural habitat. And on the Front Range of the Southern Rocky Mountains, Berthoud, Colorado has environmental progression down to a science – from water conservation, ecological diversity to technological advancements in space. Moving on to Utah, the small rural community of Vineyard was home to 139 people in 2010 and is now anticipating an estimated population of 21,000 by the end of 2022!

In Seguin, Texas, manufacturing makes up approximately 30% of the workforce. The city continues to recruit new companies, while putting a focus on skills training development, starting young with students in the Seguin school system. And Paris, Texas sparkles with joie de vivre thanks to its welcoming residents and supportive business community that always shows up to help each other thrive.

Back on the east coast, the Village of Patchogue, New York is championed by Mayor Paul Pontieri, who shares, “Our growth and success isn’t driven by anybody, but by everybody. We’ve put together that team of people… that’s what communities have to look at – working together.” And heading to eastern Canada, color – or should I say ‘colour’ – abounds in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. This vibrant and super-friendly town is an ideal place to discover whatever strikes your fancy.

Lots to inspire within our pages, my friends. Take some time to relax and enjoy the journey!
