‘Feelin’ blue and loving it!’ Our cover story on Ennis, Texas – the beautiful Bluebonnet City – leads the way in our journey to a dozen fabulous communities featured in this edition of Business View Civil & Municipal. Focusing on social, economic, and environmental sustainability, each location we showcase is making great strides for the overall wellbeing and prosperity of its businesses and residents. Housing, infrastructure, workforce training, and history are just a few items of significance on the strategic planning and smart development roster.

The City of Ennis has a tremendous sense of place and history, and they’re committed to honoring that heritage as they embrace the future.  Also, in Texas… with the advanced manufacturing boom to its west, Tesla to the southeast, and a new Samsung plant to the north, a golden triangle of opportunity is forming around the City of Manor and they are welcoming the possibilities. Another gem of the Lone Star State, the City of Kerrville in scenic Kerr County is known for partnerships and a long history of supporting entrepreneurship and business.

East Greenwich, New Jersey has taken to running the growing township like a business, noting, “We’re proud to show how government can work for the people.” Meanwhile, the Borough of Pompton Lakes, NJ is reinventing itself as a lovely home base and a go-to destination for shoppers.

Under the leadership of newly-elected Mayor LaRhonda Patrick, Warner Robins, Georgia is poised for positive change, and Safford, Arizona is busy attracting attention with the natural beauty of its mountains, lakes, and rivers – along with a wealth of other amenities. Looking to relax and recreate? Clinton, Mississippi is one of the most livable, family-friendly areas in the state, as well as a sought-after spot to retire. With 17 parks totalling 130 acres, Sterling, Colorado also offers abundant options for anyone looking to walk, hike, bike, and explore the great outdoors.

Touted as the ‘gateway to the good life’, Portales, New Mexico wants to share its peaceful welcoming atmosphere. When it comes to visionary thinking, Midland, Michigan is known as the ‘home of modern explorers’ for good reason. The city abounds with residents who are entrepreneurs, scientists, and risk-takers. North of the border, in southwestern Ontario, the Town of Tecumseh boasts an entrepreneurial spirit where “folks are not afraid to put their best foot forward and establish businesses.”

As North America welcomes spring, it’s great to see so many communities coming alive to celebrate their awesomeness. And we’re proud to help them spread the good news!  Enjoy the read, my friends.
