The Alberta community of Hinton was established dur-
ing the building of the Grand Truck Pacific Railway, in
the early days of the 20th century. Nestled in the foot-
hills, minutes from the base of the Rocky Mountains,
Hinton was traditionally a transportation hub, as the
community is strategically located on the Trans-Can-
ada Yellowhead Highway as well as the CN main rail
line, which both connect the town with major commu-
nities and key Pacific ports.
Hinton’s residents, who enjoy world-class leisure and
recreational opportunities – such as skiing, mountain
biking, canoeing, and fishing – also benefit from and
support the growth and development of the town’s
strong economic activity.
