121 BUSINESS VIEW MAGAZINE SEPTEMBER 2020 Mark Cerrone, Inc. (MCI) works on major infrastructure and building projects across Western New York. In 2019, the company celebrated its 20th Anniversary and was fortunate to cap that year with the award of the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority’s DL&W Station Rail Systems and Site Work Project. This is just the most recent collaboration between the NFTA and MCI on upgrades and enhancements to the LRRT line in Buffalo, NY that started block by block along the Main Street Corridor in 2012. MCI finished the 500 and 600 Blocks of Cars Sharing Main Street program and began work on the 100 Block in 2018. These transportation and infrastructure upgrades have proved to be significant contributors toward development in the downtown area. In addition to NFTA work, the MCI team worked on a number of high-profile projects along Buffalo’s waterfront designed to increase public access and amenities. Since 2009, MCI has done a number of key projects including the Canalside Historic Cobblestone Streets, Erie Canal Public Improvements, Tifft Street Pier, and the remediation of the Grain Silos at First Buffalo River Marina. MCI also performed remediation for the building of the Harborcenter attached to Buffalo’s KeyBank Arena. Moving out from Buffalo’s downtown core, the company has performed road and streetscape upgrades on the Niagara Street Corridor and has provided environmental abatement and site construction services for many of the buildouts in Buffalo’s Medical Corridor, as well as for many SUNY and private college campuses in the region. Currently, MCI is nearing completion work on the Erie County Medical Center’s new Trauma Center and has recently started work on the expansion of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. In the company’s home base of Niagara Falls, NY, MCI is a vital part of tourism and infrastructure improvements. Working with New York State Parks, the NYS Department of Transportation, and the City of Niagara Falls, the company has rebuilt and upgraded portions of the south and north Robert Moses Parkway, installed cobblestone on Old Falls Street, and completely restored Luna Island in the middle of the actual Falls. Not every project has a visible public profile, however. MCI offers a diverse range of services like asbestos abatement, demolition, landfills, underground utilities, and site preparation while maintaining the highest safety and quality standards. From Demolition through Landscaping, Mark Cerrone is a complete construction solutions provider and looks forward to continuing to restore Western New York – block by block. ......
