When water hits aluminum, it tries to expand to a thousand times its size. There was an explosion inside the furnace that exerted two million pounds of force. The unit remained intact - only the roof blew off. Fortunately, nobody was hurt but the equipment was put out of service. Gillespie & Powers was one of the customer’s first phone calls.
