It is also home to two institutions of higher learning–Cascadia College and the University of Washington -Bothell. In 2010, the City of Bothell launched a major downtown redevelopment program to include the demolition of 15 buildings, moving State Route 522, expanding the Bothell–Everett Highway into a multiway boulevard, expanding a city park and build- ing a newCity Hall.
