The company has performed work throughout the United States including, among others, New Hampshire, Ohio, Washington, Hawaii, Oregon, and Arizona. SEA CON has consistently been the leading representative of pre-engineered metal and hybrid steel buildings in the Pacific Northwest thanks in part to its ability to represent most of the major suppliers. Over the years, SEA CON has designed and constructed numerous hangar projects. These projects ranged from T-hangars to 550-foot clear-span structures in all types of challenging environments (including Anchorage, Alaska). This experience has allowed SEA CON to become experts in coordinating the construction of hangars with unique requirements including custom door types, foam suppression systems, and epoxy coated floor coverings. Recently, SEA CON developed a relationship with Modern Aviation to construct a hangar complex at Boeing Field in Seattle, Washington. The project consists of two hangars (40,000 and 24,000 square feet) with an associated 7,000 square foot office component. SEA CON spearheaded the effort of preparing the qualification/selection process for the design team, as well as coordinated the competitive bidding process for construction of the buildings. Modern Aviation retained Business Aviation Group to act as an Owner’s Representative as the project moved from the design-development stage into the permitting and construction phase. The coordination SEA CON provided lead to an on-time and on-budget completion for Phase 1 of the project, with Phase 2 currently on-track. Modern Aviation’s requirement that this project and upcoming FBO remodel will make Seattle a show case for what a fixed-base-operator should be.
