This is an exciting time in solar! Do you ever wonder what it would be like to have no electricity bill? In our home Solar Club has managed to help delete not one but two bills in our home. When you install solar in Alberta you are permitted to size your system to the yearly consumption of your home. When we installed our array, we still had our kids at home. We are now 13 years later and empty nesters. In the last 18 months we also bought an EV so we charge our vehicle at home not also. As we move toward retirement our home has eliminated 2 monthly expenses, thanks to Solar ClubTM. We think this makes for great financial sustainability moving toward retirement. In the last couple years, we have seen huge surges in solar installations in Alberta. I contribute this to a few factors. There was the federal grants and loans that were available. Solar ClubTM by design reduces the payback time. I believe these are strong drivers to increased solar on homes, and farms in Alberta. With us being early adopters of solar we agree with the saying “They say the best time to have planted a tree was 20 years ago, second best is now. This is the same for Solar.
