To strengthen local transportation links, the city has invested $16 million this year for the expansion of our airport which will enhance ser- vice for Kingston and the region.” Paterson continues, “When we’re talking about creating a smart economy, we want to capitalize on the assets we have and iden- tify where we have competitive advantages. We have an emerging class of entrepreneurs in the technology sector here in Kingston, many with connections to our three post-secondary institutions; Queens University, St. Lawrence College, and the Royal Military College of Canada. We have opportunities to capitalize on the knowledge, expertise, and research being done right here in Kingston.
