I applaud the Kyle Police Department and the officers promoted for their continued commitment to our community.” THE PROMOTIONS ARE LISTED AS FOLLOWS: CORPORAL: • Colby Bryant • Tera Mayfield • Anthony Guzman SERGEANT: • Matthew Michaelson • Keith Congdon • Philip Cleary • Joseph Swonke COMMANDER: • Jonathan Akers • James Jones All officers promoted first had to pass a written exam, go through the Assessment Center process and then were scored on a promotional points matrix. The matrix consists of five categories including Fitness Test scores, Weapons qualifications scores, Peace Officer Education, Civilian Education, and Years of service. “When I started here almost 27 years ago, we didn’t even have 9 officers and here we are pinning 9 today. Our department has become a choice agency, and it is because of the work that y’all do and the way you represent our agency and now you have stepped into a position that is only going to propel us further and to be one of the best agencies in Central Texas,” Kyle Police Department Assistant Chief Pedro Hernandez said speaking to the newly promoted officers.
