The major upgrades to this iconic race track gave us the opportunity to showcase our electrical expertise on the new midway entrance, completely new track lighting, a new start/finish location, the new RV park, and expanded grandstand and infield/pit row rearrangements. Our exten- sive experience in constructing energy efficient solutions for electrical challenges – solar as well as conventional – proved especially valuable at this facility. A hillside terrace will be able to accommodate 10 to 15 thousand fans, with another 10 thousand in the infield area. There will be multiple new restrooms, with accessibility for disabled patrons, new souvenir areas, and new guest services and ticketing buildings. Sperber says that races will continue through the spring even though some areas of the venue will be under construction. “It won’t be perfect and there’ll be some ‘Pardon our Dust’ signs, and there’ll be some areas that will not be active, but fans on property will be able to see that we’re do- ing a lot of work,” he states. “And when our spring schedule is complete, then we go back to full-on construction mode and we’ll wrap up the entire project for a grand opening in November.” “One of the reasons tha we want d to move forward with this pr ject was because of the l k of variety and quality of our venue,” Sperber adds. “We were limited in terms of what we could host. We’ve been approached over the years by a num- ber of different parties about a wide assortment of exciting events, but we just didn’t have the facility to be abl to host them.Those days are gone.As of November, 2018,we will be able to host a myriad of different types of events, and people will really start to think about the Raceway in very different terms.
