78 CIVIL AND MUNICIPAL MAY 2021 www. g i t i . c om With sustainability in mind, Giti Tire's plant in Chester County deploys numerous initiatives to minimize its environmental footprint, including a hybrid cooling system that takes advantage of outside temperatures, hydrogen-powered fork trucks, and the utilization of water-based inks, reusable oil containment and preserving as many trees as possible on the site. Working with the Local Community Chester County Economic Development, with its future growth plans for the county, has been a great partner of Giti Tire. Giti is proud to be in Chester County, and participates in and supports local initiatives, such as the National Manufacturing Day and a countywide career center for students. The company is also working with Chester County community leaders to support the local community through blood drives, holiday food donations and other outreach initiatives. Recognizing that tomorrow’s workforce requires extensive STEAM skills, through Giti Tire’s Math and Science Award program, the company is working with the Chester County School District to encourage students’ interest in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. In addition, Giti also collaborates with technical colleges to ensure that future workforces have the education and training needed to operate their advanced tire manufacturing facilities around the world. The future is indeed very bright in Chester County!
