BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE MIAMI BEACH FOR YEARS TO COME South Florida-based development firm Terra is redefining Miami Beach’s urban landscape by developing projects that benefit both the environment and the local community. Through sustainable, smart design-driven architecture,Terra’s mission is to transform the neighborhoods in which it builds, creating spaces that promote growth and positive community impact. From reducing carbon footprints to enhancing infrastructure and creating public spaces, Terra’s developments are re-shaping the future of Miami Beach. A prime example of Terra’s innovative approach is the recently completed Five Park, a 48-story luxury residential tower that unites two distinct neighborhoods in Miami Beach: South of Fifth and West Avenue. Developed in partnership with GFO Investments, Five Park integrates curated amenities, public art, and community spaces. The tower’s unique location, adjacent to the MacArthur Causeway, allows for an important connection between these two neighborhoods made possible by an integrated pedestrian bridge designed by French conceptual artist, Daniel Buren. Now underway, the colorfully vibrant signature bridge will serve as an artistic gateway to Miami Beach and connect the Beachwalk, Baywalk, and public parks in between. Beyond its residential offerings, Five Park includes Canopy Park, a three-acre public park designed to enhance the urban environment. With an array of resiliency elements, the park features a lush blend of native and exotic trees that improve air quality, absorb CO2, and help manage stormwater runoff. The natural canopy provides shade and creates an inviting space for residents and the community. Terra’s commitment to Miami Beach extends beyond Five Park. The firm is also partnering with South Florida development firm Turnberry to build the Grand Hyatt Miami Beach Convention Center Hotel. Once complete, the new luxury hotel and mixed-use property will position the Miami Beach Convention Center as the newest, most connected, event destination in South Florida. The firm’s most recent endeavor is the transformation of the historic Deauville Beach Resort into a prominent branded hotel and residential development that will blend the original hotel’s iconic architecture with modern aesthetics and amenities. The project – which will be designed by a team of architects led by Foster + Partners, in collaboration with South Floridabased Shulman + Associates and ODP– aims to serve as a key economic driver for the area and enhance the cultural fabric of Miami Beach. From luxury residences to cultural spaces, Terra’s Miami Beach developments are built to last, with a focus on resilience, sustainability, and the community. These projects not only enhance the city’s skyline but also its environmental and social fabric, positioning Miami Beach for a brighter and more connected future.
