In true small town fashion, the move was facilitated by community connections and supportive local services. “He’s moving his operation out to Winchester,” he illustrates. “I didn’t anticipate he was going to buy the whole piece of property that was available, but he bought it knowing that there’s an opportunity for him to grow, because it’s on the highway that takes you to downtown Ottawa, and it’s close to the United States. He saw that it was a great opportunity to both move out and grow his business.” North Dundas is also targeting the health care sector, and Winchester District Memorial Hospital works closely with Ottawa General Hospital for the training of healthcare professionals. “It is quite a feather in our cap, in a small community like ours,” acknowledges Fraser. “It’s not a small hospital.
