3 THINGS YOU DIDN’T KNOW ABOUT AEROSPACE MANUFACTURER, ONTIC Based in Creedmoor, NC, Ontic are a global aerospace parts and equipment manufacturer but unless you’re in the industry, you may not have heard of them. With seven sites across the US, UK, and Singapore, the global company employ over 1,300 people. Their expertise lies in supporting and supplying established aircraft parts to the world’s aerospace leaders across a number of pneumatic, hydraulic, avionic and electro-mechanical specialisms, among others. Their Creedmoor site is also home to some of the group’s subsidiary brands such as Twin Commander, Metro Merlin and ABI Seatbelts. 1. THEY’RE GROWING FASTER THAN ANY OTHER AVIATION COMPANY AT THE MOMENT With over 300 employees in North Carolina alone, the company is growing rapidly. Since 2019, they’ve grown from 600 to 1,300 employees globally and look set to increase this to 1,500 by the end of 2024. At their Creedmoor site specifically, they’re planning to grow the workforce by around 15% in the same time period. 2. SUPPORTING THE LOCAL COMMUNITY IS KEY TO LIFE AT ONTIC As Ontic grow and thrive, they want their employees and local communities to reap the benefits as well. In 2023, they donated $92,000 to charity globally as well as giving their time to local projects such as building school playgrounds and beach clean ups. Being a good local employer and advocate for their local communities is not only deeply embedded in their values but also contributes to a fun and enjoyable culture. They put on a virtual Mario Kart tournament each year, get very competitive over corn hole, have been known to enjoy some fancy dress, and hold lots of social events. Who said that you couldn’t have fun at work? Not Ontic, that’s for sure. 3. THEY’RE INVESTING IN THE FUTURE GENERATION Ontic wants everyone to know how great the career opportunities in aerospace are for local people, particularly the younger generations. They’ve invested heavily in their early careers programs, offering internships, apprenticeships and graduate schemes on all their sites. In fact, they’ve just taken on 11 new interns at their Creedmoor site – giving these young people an insight into the work they do and whether it might be a career path for them. In September 2023, the company also donated a variety of school supplies to Granville County Public Schools (GCPS) to ensure young people in the region have everything they need to thrive in their education.
