A $4.9 million project on Victoria and Glen Avenue is underway, improving services in a key area of town. “These upgrades improve connectivity and lay the groundwork for future development,” Mayor McGarvey notes. TRANSFORMING THE NORTH-END The north end of Parry Sound is emerging as a vibrant hub for recreation, education, and business activity.Two cornerstone projects—the $36.4 million recreation and cultural center and a new K-12 school—are set to redefine the area. “These projects have been in the works for years, and it’s amazing to see them finally coming to life,” Mayor McGarvey says.“They’ll provide much-needed facilities for our residents and make Parry Sound an even more desirable place to live.” The recreation center, a collaborative effort involving seven municipalities and two First Nations, will feature a pool, gymnasium, and multipurpose spaces.
