A lot of people, while they may want to build a more energy-efficient home, it comes with a price tag that the average consumer wouldn’t be able to afford.” She conveys that several builders in the region are embracing sustainable approaches such as net-zero construction and introducing innovative products to the market. Additionally, there’s a growing trend of integrating solar technology into new homes. “New homes are pretty energy efficient as is, in comparison to the old stock,” she recounts. “It’s just about finding those incremental changes that we can make, that are affordable to the consumer, and that are going to have an impact on energy efficiency and overall greenhouse gas emissions.
