NaVOBA partnered with the University of Texas at Austin to co-host the Business Beyond the Battlefield Conference (BBTBC) in November of 2019. NATIONAL VETERAN OWNED BUSINESS ASSOCIATION Connecting to corporate America T he National Veteran Owned Business Association (NaVOBA) is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed and led by corporate America. NaVOBA’s mission is to create corporate contracting opportunities for America’s Veteran’s and Service-Disabled Veteran’s Business Enterprises (VBEs/SDVBEs) through certification, advocacy, outreach, recognition, and education. In order to be considered as a VBE or SDVBE, a business must be, at least, 51 percent-owned, operated, and controlled by U.S. military veterans. “It started in 2003,” recounts Matthew Pavelek, President of NaVOBA. “There was a publishing company called Victory Media that had a suite of different magazines.
