National Vision has a major call center; Cisco Systems and Ricoh Electronics are located just on the outskirts of the City. Lawrenceville is much more welcoming now than in the past. According to Warbington, “Before I came on as City Manager, there was a perception in the county and the region that nothing happened in Lawrenceville. Past City Council members didn’t want any development, no new businesses - the vision was ‘we’re happy with where we’re at.’ With new elected leadership and staff over the past several years, we’ve been open for business. We’re open to have new residential to help with the downtown experience. We want people to live here, to come to the restaurants and the theater, and we want businesses to be a part of that, as well. That’s the big message.” Sherman adds, “We have 16 vibrant cities in the whole of Gwinnett County, each with their 4th of July prelude “Pizza with Police” event
