All of this combined makes Pryor Field Regional Airport (KDCU) the busiest airport in Alabama. Situated next to Calhoun Community College, the airport serves the western portion of the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area and most of the Decatur Metropolitan Area. KDCU covers an area of 200 acres and has one asphalt paved runway (18/36) measuring 6,107 x 100 ft (1,861 x 30 m). Operated by the Prior Field Airport Authority and partially funded by tax levies in both cities, this airport is predominantly a general aviation airport with some military use. The airport has 57 hangars and 141 aircraft. “We are here in Limestone County,” Fox adds, “which has been rated the fastest-growing Pryor Flight Center is what Fox calls a full-fledged red carpet Flight Center, able to handle very large aircraft as they are used to dealing with cargo operations for over 200 vendors through the airport.
