Yatsook added that the city already has a lot of restau-
rant and retail operations, drawing consumers from
the surrounding communities. “We’re the place where
most Cass County citizens go to shop. They can come
to Belton and get everything done and go home.” “You
can get to from Belton to about everywhere in fifteen
or twenty minutes,” Fisher added.
Looking ahead, Fisher reported that the city has re-
cently contracted with an energy consultant company,
360 Engineers. “They’ll help us with a variety of things
related to energy consumption,” he said. “One thing
we’ve been looking into over a year, now, is purchasing
street lights and making them all LED.”
This past year has been a good one for the city of Bel-
ton, Missouri as it continues to live up to its motto:
“Proud past, bright future.”
