Clinton County MI

2026 represents Lansing Economic Area Partnership’s 20th anniversary. Over those years, LEAP projects have directly created 11,601 good jobs, $6.8B in new investment, and launched 391 new companies. In Clinton County, LEAP has worked to support the strong economic development that has retained and grown businesses, from main streets to downtowns, from city centers to rural farms. Projects include the $570M investment in St. Johns for the expansion of a 350,000 square foot state-of-the-art dairy facility in partnership with Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America, and Select Milk Producers (MWC). The project created 297 good jobs. On main streets, LEAP is helping small businesses expand and succeed. Phillips Cider Bar and Pizzeria opened in Maple Rapids and benefited from LEAP’s Small Town Enhancement Grant. By providing resources to help renovate their new location, the owners could focus on running the business and engaging the community. LEAP is building on its 2021 designation by Site Selection magazine as one of the nation’s Top 20 economic development agencies. We recently received not one, but two Silver awards from the International Economic Development Council (lEDC) for our work. We are committed to uplifting and supporting the unique character and opportunities that Clinton County provides, making it one of the best places in Michigan to live, work, and play. Smart, balanced growth supporting our businesses & communities— agribusiness, main streets, and tech businesses—next door to Michigan State University & the capital of Michigan.
