day’s business world is a required and accepted cost.
The more we grow our geographic footprint, the more
we can see our customers, equipment and provide
even better solutions.”
Over half of revenue comes from Fortune 1000 cli-
ents, Parent said, and the battle for those customers
is typically fought on three fronts along what he called
“the asset lifecycle.” The first front is the delivery, pro-
curement and financing of assets to customers, and
TFS is one of roughly 15,000 companies competing
in that space in North America. The second relates to
the safety, productivity, operation and maintenance of
an asset, and this space is also occupied by as many
as 15,000 individual companies. The third front is the
technology and data used to manage the assets, op-
eration, maintenance, etc. There are just a handful of
competitors that are able to navigate this extremely
challenging situation on a national scale with any suc-
cess.
The difference between TFS and the rest is the avail-
ability of a comprehensive one-stop shop offering.
Parent said, “We have made a significant investment
in technology. We have upgraded our systems three
different times and we will continue to upgrade and be
a pioneer in this area. We add valuable services every
year via our investment in technology, people and ac-
quisitions.”
“When big Fortune 1000 companies want to out-
source, they don’t only want to outsource a piece of it,”
said Todd Roberts, TFS’s president. “They want some-
one who can do it all, and do it all well. That was the
niche we hit on. If you’re providing Fortune 1000 out-
sourcing, you better have services that give them the
ability to fully outsource. Those were the customers we
focused on. The things they liked were that we were in-
dependent, so we could recommend the best solution
regardless of the brand of equipment or the provider
