Package one of the runway 6-24 project took place during 2019 and included the reconstruction of the first 2,000 feet of Runway 24 beginning at the Runway 24 approach. Package two was to begin in late March 2020 but was delayed at the onset of the pandemic and work not being allowed to begin. Luckily, the delay was only one week. Package two included the reconstruction of the next 2,000 feet of the runway. This third package will take place during 2021. It was the same designer, Atkins North America, who designed all three packages, as well as the same contractor, James D.
