In 1947, as legend has it, a weather balloon or flying saucer crashed in the desert out of town. The subsequent creation of a secretive military base, Area 51, added to the conspiracy and for the last 70 years, folks have flocked to the area looking for proof of life among the stars. “Roswell Air Center allows people from all over the world to come and peek at our alien tourism,” laughs Jenna Lanfor, Property Manager and Contract Coordinator for the Roswell Air Center. It may seem cliche, but it really is a thing for some people.
